Joe Pierce Meek

Mr. Joe Pierce Meek, 75, of Bar J Road, Temple, Georgia passed away Friday, April 25, 2008 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica. He was born November 17, 1932 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Pierce Meek and the late Mrs. Jeanette Walton Parsons. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran. He worked as a machinist for Nabisco. Mr. Meek was an avid outdoorsman enjoying camping, fishing and he loved his dogs. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Mitchell Meek of Temple; daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Scott Watkins of Villa Rica; son, Johnny Meek of McDonough; sister, Mickie Whitlow of Toccoa; grandchildren, Nickki Mihok, Timothy Meek, and Stephanie Waters; great-grandchildren, Hunter Waters and Justin Waters; several nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be conducted Monday, April 28, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Bethel Cemetery in Hiram with Rev. Donnell Soloman officiating. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Sunday, April 27, 2008 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
