Mr. Joel Daniel Phillips, 69, of Luthersville, Georgia passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016, following an extended illness. He was born December 2, 1946 in Lawrenceville, Georgia. He retired as a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor from the City of Atlanta in 2009. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Awtrey Phillips of Luthersville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Dawn Phillips of Villa Rica and Chris and Angela Phillips of Temple; two stepsons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Tracy Lowry of Columbus and Bobby Lowry of West Plains, MO; two sisters, Darlene Baggett of Dallas and Dee Abernathy of Douglasville; seven grandchildren, Blake Lowry, Zanna Bell, Jacob Lowry, Joshua Lowry, Chloe Phillips, Kaleb Lowry, and Madison Phillips; nephews, Allen Phillips and Eric Baggett. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Memorial Services will follow at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home.
