Mr. John Vines, age 75, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2010 surrounded by his loving wife of 54 years, Charlotte and their children, sisters, and pastor. He was born in Temple, Georgia to Newman Vines and Luna Kerr Vines. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; their daughters, Rebecca Sara Giannoni of Temple, Charlotte Dianne Vines of Temple, and Cheryl Leigh Vines of Carrollton; their son and daughter-in-law, Grady Newnan and Debra Darlene Vines of Mooreville, Mississippi; granddaughters, Jennie Rebecca Lord of Temple, Brandy Lynn Chancey of Villa Rica, Domino Nichole Mills of Villa Rica, and Amy Inez Mills of Villa Rica; grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Brandon Karl and Virginia Anne Raybon of Yorkville, John Thomas and Courtney Vines of Mooreville, Mississippi, Robert Wayne and Kristin Vines of Mooreville, Mississippi, and Scott Allen and Maegan Vines of Mooreville, Mississippi; brothers and sister-in-law, Lowell Vines of Temple, Walter and Carolyn Vines of Blue Ridge; and sister, Joyce Sorrells of Tallapoosa; several brothers and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews. John and Charlotte have also been blessed with 15 great grandchildren, Devin, Destiny, Dakota, Ethan, Chelsea, Kaytlyn, Lauren, Aaryn, Chloe, Collier, Trysten, Trenton, Hannah, Haley, Arianna. Earlier this year John was preceded in death by his loving daughter Beverly Lynn Nicholson of Temple. John deeply loved his wife, Charlotte. She was the center of his world. He treated her with the greatest of care respect. John was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. He loved nothing more than spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. John and Charlotte spent the first 22 years of their marriage in the service of the United States Navy. After retirement they moved back to Villa Rica. John then became an electrician where he served the Carroll County Board of Education as a school electrician for over 20 years. He retired in January of 2006. After retirement he dedicated his days to his wife, family and church. He was a passionate, dedicated member of the Villa Rica Church of Christ. As an elder of the congregation he strived to live a Christian life to be a shining example to those around him. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the Villa Rica Church of Christ with Minister Patrick W. Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica with full Military Honors provided by Georgia National Guard.
