John Corn

October 27, 1954 — November 2, 2014

Mr. John Michael Corn, Sr. age 60 of Villa Rica, passed away, Sunday, November 2, 2014. He was born October 27, 1954 in Atlanta, GA the son of the late Mr. John Calvin Corn and the late Mrs. Clara Kathleen Wright Corn. He worked as a welder and pipe fitter for the Local 72 in Atlanta. He served in the United States Army in the 101st Airborne Division. He was a combat engineer, demolition expert and served in Special Forces. He attended the Mars Hill Baptist Church and Church on the Word. Mike loved his family, the Military and all they stood for and his Harley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Patricia Ann Wilson and Rebecca Lynn Blue. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Myers Corn of Villa Rica; son and daughter-in-law, John Michael Corn, Jr. and Nikki Corn of Villa Rica, Jason Donald Corn and partner Lee Barrett of Niles, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Angela Michelle Rogers and David Rogers of Villa Rica; two sisters, Frances Louise Corn of Villa Rica, Es “Stella” Tranffanstedt of Iowa; five granddaughters, Jordan Rogers, Amberly Rogers, Dominque Rogers, BriAnna Johnson and McKayla Corn and two grandsons, Brady Rogers and DJ Rogers. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will conducted Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Wofford officiating. Interment will follow in Meadowbrook Memory Gardens. The following will serve as pallbearers, Chris Thomason, Dennis Thomas, Mikey Wilson, Ryan Wilson, Gene Millians, Keith Millians, and Brian Jones.
