John Dickson Hendrix

John Dickson Hendrix, 74, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. Mr. Hendrix was born March 23, 1933 in Douglasville, Georgia; son of the late Earl John Hendrix and the late Ollie A. Dickson Hendrix. Mr. Hendrix was employed by Delta Airlines for over thirty-three years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Douglasville. Mr. Hendrix was a veteran of the United States Army and enjoyed spending his spare time gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Berry Hendrix; daughters and sons in-law, DeAnne and Randal Haynes of Fayetteville, and Christie and Jeff Deborde of Dallas; sons and daughters in-law, Greg and Coley Hendrix of Lexington, Kentucky, Jeff Hendrix of Douglasville, and Kent and Deborah Brown of England; sister and brother in-law, Doris and Horace Moore of Douglasville; brother and sisters in-law, Robert Hendrix of Temple, Loy and Sarah Hendrix of Toney, Alabama, Donald and Shirley Hendrix of Toney, Alabama, and Michael and Shirley Hendrix of Dallas, Texas; eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, December 31, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Georgia with Dr. John Pennington officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Sunday, December 30, 2007 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
