Mr. John Barry Easterwood, age 54, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at his residence. A native of Douglas County, Barry was born December 8, 1956, the son of the late Mr. Glen Anderson Easterwood and the late Mrs. Charlotte Kirby Easterwood. He married Jackie Criswell on May 2, 1980 in Douglasville. Barry worked in the community at Ace Hardware for seven years and prior to that he was employed by AMED for a number of years. He enjoyed working with people and was loved by all that knew him. In his spare time Barry enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved traveling to the mountains. Barry loved southern rock music especially Lynyrd Skynryd and the Allman Bros. He was an avid gardener and loved working in his yard. He had a great love for Georgia History and the Civil War Era and he enjoyed looking for Civil War memorabilia. He was a devoted family man who loved his roles of husband, father, and Papa. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Douglasville. Barry will always be remembered and loved by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Easterwood and Jackie Easterwood; and his brother-in-law, Jerry Criswell. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Jackie Criswell Easterwood of Douglasville; his two daughters, April Easterwood and Pamela Easterwood both of Douglasville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gail and Phil Mitchell and Meloyde and Don Aston all of Villa Rica; sisters-in-law, Faye Easterwood Waldrep of Villa Rica, Joyce Cook of Temple, Janice Dean, Judy Glover and Charlotte Criswell all of Douglasville; his granddaughter, Hannah Easterwood; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Sunday, November 20, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, November 21, 2011 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Rev. Johnny White and Rev. Terry Marbut officiating.
