John Henry George, Jr.

John Henry George, Jr., 77, of Villa Rica, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, September 27, 2025. He was born on December 7, 1947, the son of the late John Henry George, Sr. and the late Grace Cole George.

John lived a life of service, love, and dedication. Throughout his career, John exemplified hard work and commitment. He spent twenty-five years at Rayloc Genuine Parts. In addition, he devoted more than forty years to serving as a Pastor and he retired from the Carroll County School System. John's service extended beyond his professional life. He proudly served in the United States Army and was honored to receive the Bronze Star with Valor and a Purple Heart, a testament to his bravery and commitment to his country.

Above all, John cherished the time spent with his loved ones. He and his late wife Carolyn were high school sweethearts. He adored her dearly and they shared a bond that represented true partnership and devotion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Carolyn Josephine George; sisters, Jean Helton, Reba Hubbard, and Betty Camp.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Rich Campbell of Temple, Georgia; grandchildren: Kevin and Breanna Blackmon as well as Addisyn Campbell; two great-grandchildren, Logan Beau Blackmon, Brynnleigh Blackmon and Warren Blackmon; sisters, Maggie Deese of Carrollton, Marvine Capes (Timmy) of Fort Payne, Alabama; sister-in-law, Dale Morris (fiancé, Al Dobbins) of Tallapoosa; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. Graveside services will be conducted at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens on Monday, September 29, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Mr. Kevin Blackmon, Jr. and Pastor Terry Fennell officiating.

Though he has departed from this world, John's legacy of love, faith, and service will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.
