John Thomas Goggins, 81, of Douglasville, departed this life on February 16, 2025. He was born on February 1, 1944 in Marietta, Georgia to the late Lula Griffin Goggins and Glenn Louis Goggins. 

John was a remarkable individual known for his warm and outgoing personality. As a dedicated farmer, he took pride in raising chickens and cultivating a deep connection with the land that shaped his life's work. John possessed a love for the simple yet profound pleasures in life, from his fondness for antiques to his enthusiasm for fishing and deer hunting. He had a knack for humor and an ability to bring joy to those around him, embodying the spirit of a true social butterfly. One of his favorite retreats was Lake Arrowhead, where he found peace in nature's beauty. John Thomas Goggins leaves behind a legacy defined by love, laughter, and a profound appreciation for life's simple joys. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Goggins is preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Jean Cranmer. 

He is survived by his niece, Leona Carver; nephew, Louis (Becky) Hodnett; he is also survived by great nieces and nephews and several cousins. 

A graveside service will be conducted at The Grove Church in Acworth, Georgia at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
