John Harrison Hemperley

May 4, 1911 — August 25, 2007

Mr. John Harrison Hemperley, 96, of San Antonio, FL formerly of Lithia Springs, Georgia and East Point, Georgia passed away Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Westbrook Manor in Zephyrhills, FL. He was born May 4, 1911 the son of the late Mr. M.O. Hemperley and the late Mrs. Azzie Elizabeth Barfield Hemperley. He was a member of County Line Baptist Church. He owned and operated Hemperley Glass Company. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Elizabeth Kirland Hemperley, two sisters and one grandson. He is survived by two daughters, Mildred H. Hardy of Cranberry, TX and Evelyne and son-in-law, Harry Harris of San Antonio, FL; one son and daughter-in-law, David Michael and Barbara Hemperley of Fayetteville; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Dr. Marion Beaver and Mr. Horace LaFavor officiating. Interment will follow at Forrest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Tuesday, August 28, 2007 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Gulfside Regional Hospice, 6117 Trouble Creek Road, Newport Richey, FL 34652. Messages of condolences to the family may be sent to www.jones-wynn.com.
