John Henry Sheffield

Mr. John Henry Sheffield, age 68, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away June 4, 2009 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He was born October 13, 1940, Gadsden, Alabama. He served in the Army’s 101st Airborne during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Sheffield worked as a contractor in the construction industry. He was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church of Douglasville. He enjoyed Georgia football, fishing and working on the computer, and photography. He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Owens Sheffield; daughters and sons-in-law Lisa and Don Parsons of Newberg, Indiana, Cindy and Chuck Morley of Douglasville; sons and daughters-in-law Randy Sheffield of Acworth, Mathis and Tina Sheffield of Hiram, Shawn and Melanie Craig, Joey and Chris Craig all of Dallas, and Chuck and Sara Owens of Douglasville; sister and brother-in-law Sue Polley and Jack Thomas of McDonough; 14 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. A private family service will be conducted Friday, June 5th, 2009 at Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church in Douglasville, Rev. Adam Roberts officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church, 4283 Chapel Hill Road, Douglasville, Georgia 30135.
