John "J.C." Steely

Mr. John C. “J.C.” Steely, 79, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, December 22, 2007 at his residence. He was born May 15, 1928 in Clanton, AL the son of the late Mr. John Steely and the late Mrs. Nonie Sanders Steely. He married Dolareese Rosa Bailey on June 25, 1948. He worked as Branch Manager for Warner Brothers Pictures in Atlanta for over 35 years. After retiring from Warner Brothers Pictures he worked for 10 years for Benton Brothers in Atlanta. He was a member of the East Point Masonic Lodge. Mr. Steely was a member of Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church in East Point where he served as choir director of his Sunday School Class and on the Baptism Committee. Mr. Steely enjoyed reading, singing and attending craft shows. He was an avid sports fan enjoying football and Atlanta Braves Baseball. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Dolareese Rosa Bailey Steely on December 1, 2007. He is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Mike Bousman of Douglasville and Delaine and Mike Watts of Dallas; sister, Nola Bishop of Mableton; 3 granddaughters, Brittany Bousman, Brooke Bousman, and Madison Watts; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Wednesday, December 26, 2007 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
