Mr. John Robert OâDell, 91, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015. He was born November 24, 1924 in Ft. Payne, Alabama, the son of the late Mr. George OâDell and the late Mrs. Lucinda OâDell. Mr. OâDell was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II. He retired from the finishing department of the W.Y. Shugart and Sons Hosiery Mill. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Ft. Payne, Alabama. He was an avid fan of Alabama Football and enjoyed fishing. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a member of Second Baptist Church. He served as a Sunday School teacher and a deacon for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Lee Warren OâDell; and his six siblings. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Susan OâDell of Douglasville, GA; two grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Tricia OâDell of Douglasville, GA and Mary and Brian Smith of Campbell, CA; six great-grandchildren, Kathleen OâDell, Sean OâDell, Anna OâDell, Emma Claire OâDell, Elizabeth Smith and Helen Smith; special friend, Molly Wolfe of Douglasville, GA; several nieces and nephews.
