Mr. John Robert Reeves, Jr., 95, of Temple, Georgia passed away Friday, November 3, 2017. A native of Draketown, he was born September 7, 1922 the son of the late Mr. John Robert Reeves, Sr. and the late Mrs. Pearl King Reeves. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II. He was a businessman, owning and operating Reeves General Merchandise. He supplied farmers with fertilizer, feed and lime for years. A favorite pastime was raising cattle and quarter horses. Throughout his life, he bought and sold real estate. A race enthusiast, he enjoyed racing cars, riding motorcycles, and flying planes. He was an avid gardener and loved to sing classic country music with his wife. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Jo McBrayer Reeves on October 5, 2017; two sisters and four brothers. He is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Judy Hoffman of Draketown, Susan and Ronald Welborn of Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren, Nina and Paul Cash, Camille and Steve Pinkos, Ron and Lizzie Welborn, Victoria Welborn, Alicia and Michael White, Ethan Allen Lewis, and Micah Adam Lewis; 13 great-grandchildren, Knox, Cade, and Ivy Cash, Channing, Lyla, and Dutch Pinkos, Ella, Carlyle, Eaves, and Wyndsor Welborn, Evan and Sage White, and Adalyn Lewis.Graveside services will be conducted Monday, November 6, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Draketown Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Wendell Rush officiating.
