David Voyles

John David Voyles, 88, of Winston, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. He was born on April 23, 1935. He is the son of the late Howard Voyles and the late Rosalee Voyles. Throughout his life, David embraced every moment with grace and kindness.

David was a faithful member of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, where he also served as a deacon. He was devoted employee of the U.S. Post Office for over thirty years and was a member of The National Postal Mail Handlers Union.

In addition to being a loving husband, father, brother and cherished church member, he had several passions that brought him immense joy. He had a love for the beach and golfing. Additionally, David had an affinity for old cars and enjoyed piddling with them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Voyles and his second wife, Willouise McNeal Voyles; his daughters, Beverly Hardy and Denice Mote; sister, Ruby (Robert) Maxwell.

However, David's greatest source of pride was his family. He is survived by his step-sons David (Donna) Walls of Villa Rica, Georgia, and William Walls of Franklin, Georgia; son-in-law, Randy Hardy of Douglasville, Georgia; brother, Herbert (Barbara) Voyles, of Buckhead, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren, multiple great-grandchildren, and even great great-grandchildren—each one held a special place in his heart;  several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour at 1:00 PM from Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Villa Rica. Interment will follow at Cold Springs Cemetery in Winston, Georgia.
