John Wallace Pope, Jr.

Mr. John Wallace Pope, Jr., age 66, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Monday, October 6, 2008 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica. He was born April 6, 1942 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of the late Mr. John Wallace Pope, Sr. and the late Mrs. Ellen Russell Pope. He was an electrician and worked as a lineman for Georgia Power Company for many years. He was avid outdoorsman and enjoyed bird watching, fishing and hunting. He was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Cain Pope. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Minnie Ray Pope of Villa Rica; daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Jason Callihan of Dallas, Selena Mixon of Dallas and Patricia and Doug Damino of Buchanan; sons, Jason Pope of Carrollton and Charlie Pope of Austell; brother, Harry Pope of Hiram; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Tuesday, October 7, 2008 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Wednesday, October 8, 2008 from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM.
