Mrs. Johnnie Mae âFoxâ Watson Franklin, 74, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at her residence. She was born August 23, 1931 in Bessemer, Alabama the daughter of the late Mr. Gibbieann Watson and the late Mrs. Elisabeth Graham Watson. Johnnie Mae âFoxâ Watson Franklin gave her life to Christ at a very young age. She moved to St. Louis, Missouri in her early 20âs and later to Decatur, Georgia in 1979. Johnnie lived in the Douglasville Fowler Senior Citizen Community for the last 1 ½ years of her life. Johnnie loved to cook, clean, and make juice. She loved to help people. She had a passion for Christ putting Jesus first in her life everyday. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Alice and Robert Ellis of Douglasville, Suecile Samuel James and June Samuel Johnson both of Birmingham; son, Paul Franklin of Missouri; step-daughter and son-in-law, Wanda Mitchell-Wright and Curtis Wright; sister, Rosa Mae Bennett; brothers, Rev. Huey Jackson and Johnny Watson; 6 grandchildren, Chase Ellis, Portia Ellis, Versherra James, Vershuna M. James, Vercilya Reese, and Henry âBeniâ Johnson; 6 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; special great-niece, Sherry Ross. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, September 17, 2005 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Huey Jackson and Bishop Walker officiating. Musical selections will be rendered by Mrs. Lachette Reliford. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica.
