Johnny served his community diligently as a school bus driver for Temple Schools, where he created a welcoming environment for the children he transported. His warm personality meant he never met a stranger, and his great sense of humor brought joy to those around him. A proud Army veteran, Johnny was stationed in the Panama Canal Zone, where he drove an equipment truck, showcasing his dedication and service to his country. His faith was evident as a member of the Villa Rica Church of Christ, where he found fellowship and community.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Deese Waddell of Bremen; daughter, Tammie (Brian) Mitcham of Bremen; and sister; JoAnn Forbus of Temple. Johnny’s heart truly belonged to his family; he adored his granddaughters, Macey (Corey) Hooten and Gracey Mitcham; two great grandchildren, Saylor & Bowen Hooten, who brought immense joy to his life.

He joins his brothers, James Waddell, R. C. Waddell, and William Waddell and his sister Frances Mote in eternal rest, leaving behind a family who will always remember his warmth and kindness.
