Mr. Johnny Frank Yell, Sr., age 73, of Bremen, passed away, Saturday, January 5, 2019. He was born August 28, 1945 in Dunlap, TN, the son of the late Mr. Pleas Francis Yell and the late Mrs. Dora Ellen Green Yell. Mr. Yell enjoyed woodworking, working on cars, helping people, and going to flea markets. He never met a stranger and was a very humble man. Mr. Yell served as a minister for many years. He loved his birds, Bones and Elijah, but most of all he loved his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Yell; sister, Leatha Farley; brothers-in-law, Ray Holloway and Richard Mayfield. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Jordon Yell of Bremen; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Ricky Strickland of Temple; sons and daughter-in-law, Johnny F. Yell, Jr. of Temple, Hank and Jacqui Black of Columbus, OH; sisters and brother-in-law, Orpha Mayfield of Jasper, Susie Holloway of Woodstock, Minnie and Lee Jackson of Temple; brother, Ben Yell of Rossville; three grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and extended family also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Mr. Yell will lie in state Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Apostolic Tabernacle of Living God Church in Temple. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 2:00 PM from Apostolic Tabernacle of Living God Church in Temple with Rev. Kenneth Lankford and Bro. Edward Wheat officiating.
