Jose Alfredo Alonzo

Jose Alfredo Alonzo, 68, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on January 30, 2024. He was born on March 23, 1955, in Reynosa Tamaulipas, Mexico to Mr. Roberto Colon and the late Mrs. Socorro Alonzo.

Jose's warm personality touched the lives of all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a kind, sweet, and selfless man who always went out of his way to help others. Jose's hardworking nature was evident in every aspect of his life. One of Jose's greatest passions was soccer. He had a love for the sport and he would often humorously claim to have "invented soccer". Jose's enthusiasm for soccer extended to being a devoted fan of the Barcelona team. Additionally, Jose enjoyed spending time with his loved ones engaging in another favorite pastime – karaoke. Outside of his hobbies and interests, Jose took immense pride in his family. His proudest accomplishments revolved around his children and grandchildren.

Jose is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Fulton Alonzo; sons, Alfredo Alonzo and Brandon Alonzo; daughter, Amanda (Brian) Williams; and three adored grandchildren, Victoria, Lizzy, and Aaron; sisters, Olga (Piovedio) Sanchez and Lupe (Greg) Adams; brothers, Juan (Sandra) Alonso and Daniel Alonso.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 4:00 – 9:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville. The funeral mass will take place on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 12:00 PM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Lithia Springs with Father Jack officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton.
