Mr. Joseph Feggans, Jr., age 84, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019. He was born in Phenix City, Alabama, the son of the late Mr. Joseph Feggans, Sr. and the late Mrs. Bessie Mack Feggans. He lived in Columbus, Georgia then later moved to Douglasville, Georgia where he resided for many years.
He went by many names "Bo John" nickname, "Joe", "Joseph" and most known by "Daddy Joe" by his 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Daddy Joe's passion was cooking, cooking and more cooking. He started his career in hospitality. He worked for Davis Brothers as a traveling chef for 10 years and after moving to Douglasville, he became an entrepreneur and opened the Taste of Country Café in Atlanta, Georgia for 15 years. He then became the chef and proprietor of Jewels Garden Restaurant in Lithia Springs. He then operated the Liberty Café in the Douglas County courthouse.
Daddy Joe will be dearly missed. His memory will last forever and his legacy will stand for generations to come. Celebrating the life and legacy of a child of God, a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Now he rests with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In addition to his parents, Daddy Joe was preceded to his heavenly home by the love of his life, his wife, Ocie Hardaway Feggans, his daughter, Cheryl Feggans McLeod, his brother, John Henry Feggans and his great-granddaughter, Jordyn Jenkins.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie Feggans Johnson and Bernard Johnson of Douglasville, Cathy Feggans Parker and Mitchell Parker of Douglasville, Stephanie Feggans of Douglasville and Alesia Feggans Barnes and Milton Barnes of Douglasville; his son, Randy Feggans of Douglasville; two sisters-in-law, Peggy Hardaway Brooks and her husband, Chuck Brooks of Logansville and Valerie Hardaway Scott of Douglasville; 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 11:00AM until 1:00PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglasville. Funeral Services will be conducted, Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 1:00PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville with Bishop Benjamin Lambert and Pastor Ronnie Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville.
