Joseph Frederick Brewer

Mr. Joseph Frederick “Fred” Brewer, age 69, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He was born April 1, 1941 in Macon, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. L.E. Brewer and the late Mrs. Nancey Sue Harper Brewer. He married Joyce Eads on September 5, 1964. He was of the Methodist Faith and worked for the City of Douglasville as a Traffic Control Officer. He enjoyed camping and was a devoted grandfather to his treasured grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Brewer. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Joyce Eads Brewer of Douglasville; daughter, Katherine Allen; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph “Joe” F. Brewer, Jr. and his wife, Kathy Riemer of Douglasville; sister, Carol Ray of Douglasville; brother, Lawton Andrew Brewer of Carrollton; beloved grandchildren, Tammi Allen, Leigh Allen, Alexander Allen, Joseph Riley Brewer, Marcos Garcia, Brian Garcia, Priscilla Price, Griffin Riemer, Thomas Allen and Kristina Riemer; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, January 28, 2011 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Potate officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Villa Rica. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
