Mr. Joseph âJoeâ A. Moessner, 85, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, June 24, 2005 in Aurora, Colorado. He was born October 17, 1919 in Savannah, Georgia the son of the late Mr. William Richard Moessner and the late Mrs. Kathleen A. Marlowe Moessner. Mr. Moessner served with the United States Navy and fought during World War II. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Douglasville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Joleen Moessner and two brothers, Billy and Frank Moessner. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Mitchell Sharpe Moessner of Douglasville; two step-sons, Joseph S. Sharpe of Fayetteville, Mitchell W. Sharpe of Brighton, CO; two sisters and brother-in-law, Dollie and Bill Spurlock of Locust Grove, Hazel Mitchell of Los Angeles, CA; three nieces and two nephews also survive. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, June 30, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Forest Park, Georgia with the Rev. John Hughes and Rev. Cecil Clegg officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 29, 2005 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM from the Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Heritage Baptist Church, 8800 Rose Avenue, Douglasville, Georgia 30134 or the charity of your choice.
