Mr. Joseph “Joe” Stokely Wilde, Jr., age 90, of Bremen, passed away, Tuesday, May 26, 2015. He was born March 20, 1925 in Lake Toxaway, NC, the son of the late Mr. Joseph Stokely Wilde, Sr. and the late Mrs. Ethel Viola Phillips Wilde. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Bremen. He served in various churches as an Ordained Deacon for 55 years. Mr. Wilde was an active member of the Gideons International for 25 years. After his Naval career, his lifetime careers included logging, Merchant Marines, printing companies, owning his own sign company and always made a point to minister to those he met along the way.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Ramona Deborah “Debbie” Wilde Guy; grandsons, Anthony Joseph Wilde and Daniel Keith Guy; brothers, John Jacob Astor Wilde and Festus Coolidge Wilde; sisters, Nellie Wilde Owens, Emma Oneida Wilde Johnson, and Alice Marie Wilde McKinney Moody.He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carroll Loehr Wilde of Bremen; daughters and son-in-law, Teresa and J.H. Britt of Villa Rica, Lauris and Stanley Cooper of Loganville; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Carol Wilde of Villa Rica; sisters and brother-in-law, Dot Wilde Galloway of Lake Toxaway, NC, Exie Wilde and Louie Gene Henson of Seneroe, SC; brother and sister-in-law, Hoyt Kadez Wilde and Jenny Hogesed of Bevard, NC; seven grandchildren, Marty and Karen Jarrell Guy, Julie Britt and Tommy Byrd, Amber Britt and Kevin Stone, Jonathan and Aubrey Moore Britt, Anthony and Crystal Sexton Cooper, Jason Wilde and Austin Cooper; sixteen great grandchildren; brother-in-law and wife, Kenneth and Mariya Guy; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, May 29, 2015 at 4:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Herman Parker officiating. Eulogy written by his sister Exie Wilde Henson and will be read by his daughter, Lauris Wilde Cooper. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jonathan Britt, Anthony Cooper, Jason Wilde, Austin Cooper, Tommy Byrd and Kevin Stone.
