Joseph Earl Nichols II

Joseph Earl Nichols II, 82, of Carrollton, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. He was born on June 19, 1943, the son of the late Joseph Earl Nichols Sr. and the late Thelma Mildred Clay Nichols.

Joseph was a truly a remarkable person, whose caring nature and giving spirit touched all those who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was characterized by his thoughtfulness and meticulous approach to everything he did. He enjoyed long, meaningful, conversations. Friends and neighbors alike will forever cherish the warmth and joy he brought into their lives. His kindness made him not just a neighbor but a friend to everyone around him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Earl Nichols III.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Nichols; daughter, Diana Jackson (David) of Whitesburg, Deborah Presnell (Stacey) of Bowdon; sister Jodi Nall (Michael) of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Shawn, Caleb, Kathy, and Justin; and his beloved dog Penny, who was not only a pet, but a beloved companion

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Carroll Memory Gardens.

Joseph Earl Nichols II leaves behind a legacy of kindness and friendship that will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate to share in his journey. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of his friends and community.
