Joseph Brian Owen, 40, of Villa Rica, GA, passed away on September 9, 2025. He was born on February 23, 1985, the son of James Owen and the late Brooksann Dawe. Joseph was lovingly called “Joey” or “Jojo” by his friends and family.
His life was a testament to hard work, unyielding spirit, and an unwavering love for his family and friends, which he cherished deeply.
Joseph worked in the construction industry, where his dedication and expertise were well-regarded among his peers. He was not just a skilled worker; his good sense of humor, intelligence, and kindness made him a beloved colleague and friend. The relationships he built through his career were nurtured with respect and laughter, leaving a profound impact on all those lucky enough to know him.
Outside of his professional life, Joseph was a passionate individual who enjoyed woodworking, carving, fishing, and hunting. He loved to tinker with various projects, showcasing his inventive mind and creativity. These hobbies were not merely pastimes but avenues through which he expressed his creativity and connected with nature.
One of Joseph's proudest accomplishments came on May 7, 2001, when he was honored in a Walk of Honor Ceremony on September 26, 2001, for his courageous act of saving a man from drowning in a community lake near Ambassador Drive in the Leisure Acres Subdivision. This act of bravery exemplified not only his quick thinking but also his deep compassion for others.
Above all, Joseph admired and adored his wife, Tamara. Their relationship was a testament to the beauty of partnership—a bond of soulmates and best friends that flourished over more than 11 years together, including seven years of marriage. The love they shared was profound, providing joy and inspiration to those fortunate enough to witness it.
He is survived by his loving wife Tamara Henslee Owen; daughter, Alyssa Owen; son, Bryce Owen; sister Brandi Sanchez; and brothers Logan Dawe and Evan Owen.
