Joseph Williamson

Mr. Joseph “Mike” Michael Williamson, age 68, of Villa Rica, passed away, Friday, August 23, 2019. He was born June 16, 1951 in Carrollton the son of the late Dr. J. C. Williamson and Mrs. Inez Jackson Williamson. He was the Salutatorian of the 1969 graduating class of Villa Rica High School. Mr. Williamson was a graduate of The University of Georgia. He was a radio operator for the Georgia State Patrol for several years and also worked in the lab at Villa Rica Hospital. He loved working in his greenhouse, helping his mother, and loved his nieces and nephews the most. He is survived by his mother, Inez Jackson Williamson of Villa Rica; brothers and sister-in-law, Greg Williamson of Carrollton, Teddy and Glenda Williamson of Villa Rica; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Rob Gordy of Carrollton; aunt, Nancy Jackson Parker of Carrollton; nieces and nephews; Crystal and Nic Hulsey, Brittany Cochran, Heath Williamson, Will Gordy; great nieces and nephews; Hailey Hulsey, Jaxon Hulsey, Anniston Cochran, Sadie Cochran, and Abby Cochran also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, August 25, 2019 at 3:30 PM from the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica with Rev. Jeff Powell officiating. Dr. Shirley Garrett will provide the eulogy. Interment will follow at Hillcrest City Cemetery in Villa Rica with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers; Heath Williamson, Bo Hembree, Jaxon Hulsey, Billy Combs, James Hembree, and Doug Thompson.
