Mrs. Joyce Elizabeth Payton, age 72 of Douglasville, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2019. She was born October 25, 1946, the daughter of the late Mr. Clyde Donald Dillard, Sr. and the late Mrs. Marion Elizabeth Crawford Dillard. She was an avid reader, loved history, animals and loved to watch movies. She worked at Kroger as an office clerk.In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Payton; uncle, Fred J. Crawford; nephew, Donald Wade DillardShe is survived by brother, Clyde Donald Dillard, Jr. of Waco; niece, Cindy Dillard Wilson of Waco; aunt and uncle, Midge and Jim Barbaree of Smyrna; aunt, Bobbie Crawford of Mableton; nephew, Fred Crawford, Jr. of Mableton; great nieces and nephews, Hunter, Case, and Luke Wilson and fiancé Macy Muse, Mitch Dillard, Halee Dillard; great - great niece, Charley Layne Wilson; cousins, Jim and Suzanne Barbaree of Acworth, Charlie and Myung-Ok Emory of Abu Dhabi, Jamie and Denny Ellis of Lithia Springs, Harriet and Jim Emory of Lithia Springs, Andrew Barbaree of Acworth, Shanna and Patrick Owen of White, Mark Barbaree of New York City, Matt, Shelly, and Nina Grace Barbaree of Woodstock; Joyce’s two dogs, Sasha and Lucy. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 18, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens.
