Mrs. Judy Hales, age 71, of Douglasville passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024. She was born February 28, 1952 in Atlanta, GA to the late Mr. John Sego and the late Mrs. Charlotte Myers.
She was known for her passion for scrapbooking, volunteering, and her matter-of-fact personality that endeared her to all who knew her. Judy had a special talent for planning “putting on the hits” parties and entertaining guests. She was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs as well. Her welcoming and hospitable nature made her the ultimate hostess, always ensuring everyone around her felt comfortable and cared for. Judy lived in Baltimore for a number of years, where she met her lifelong friend, Chris Allen. Family was at the core of Judy's life, and she cherished the time spent with her loved ones. Her dedication to creating lasting memories with family and friends was evident in everything she did. Whether it was organizing gatherings or lending a helping hand to those in need, Judy's selflessness touched many hearts.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Mr. Robert Hales, Sr.; daughter, Lavonne (Greg) Hales Chumley of Douglasville; son, Robert (Candie) Hales, Jr. of Lithia Springs; grandchildren, McKenna Sarvis, Cailey Sarvis, Caleb Sarvis; nephew, Phoenix Sego.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 5:00 – 9:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville. The funeral service will take place on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglasville with Pastor Aaron Pettus officiating.
