Mrs. Judy Rhea âCookieâ Welsh Harper, age 71, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016. She was born March 25, 1944 in Rome, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Raymond James Welsh and the late Mrs. Pauline Coker Welsh. She was a member of Cleveland Avenue Baptist Church in Atlanta. She was a homemaker who was devoted to her family and took exceptional care of her husband and son. She was an avid reader of her kindle enjoying love and detective stories. She was known as âQueen of Sherwood Driveâ by her husband. She loved children and was known as the neighborhood âMomâ, giving childcare to the children of the neighborhood. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren taking them to parks and family reunions. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ralph Daniel Harper, Sr. of Douglasville; son and daughter-in-law, Ralph Daniel âDannyâ Harper, Jr. and his wife, Shawntaa of Douglasville; brother and sister-in-law, James D. and Linda Welsh of Franklin, NC; grandchildren, Alyn Harper, Ian Harper, and Khalista Watts; nephew, Allan Welsh; several other extended family members. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM. Graveside Services will be conducted Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Lycurtis Bester officiating.
