Julia Fay Brock McCarrell

Mrs. Julia Fay Brock McCarrell, age 76, of Whitesburg, Georgia passed away Monday, April 6, 2009. She was born August 12, 1932 in Jacksonville, Alabama the daughter of the late Mr. J.B. Brock and the late Mrs. Lovell Turner Brock. She was a homemaker and was devoted to her family. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Winston where she served in the nursery. She was very outgoing and was a people person. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband, Joseph Allen “Joe” McCarrell, Jr. on April 1, 2001; and her daughter, Debbra Lynn Hansford. She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Fay Fuller of Whitesburg and Martha Marie Bowers of Lake City; son, Anthony “Tony” Allen McCarrell of Whitesburg; sisters, Maxine Heathcock of Wellington, AL, Rosa White of Rockmart, Clara Cochran of Piedmont, AL, and Carolyn Willis of Cow Pens, SC; brothers, Ray Brock of Piedmont, AL, Glenn Brock of Titusville, FL and Larry Brock of Jacksonville, AL; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 1:00 PM from the Liberty Baptist Church in Winston with Rev. Joey Vaughn officiating. Mrs. McCarrell will lie in state from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Winston. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Wednesday, April 8, 2009 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
