Mrs. Julia Margaret Stubbs Green, 88, of Austell, Georgia passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018. She was born June 18, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of the late Mr. Herbert Lloyd Stubbs and the late Mrs. Helen Brite Stubbs. She retired as a high school educator, having worked in education for over 20 years. She was an active member and Union official for the Teachers of New York. She was a member of the Union for Women’s Rights to Work. She had a lively and fun spirit, loved music, dancing, bingo and dominoes. She enjoyed traveling. She was devoted to family and was a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Green; great-grandchild, Annaliyah Mya-Christina Allen; brother and sister-in-law, Herbert Lloyd and Betty Stubbs; brother-in-law, Kenneth Thornhill. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa Green-Clopton and her husband, Charles Clopton, Jr. of East Point and Sheila and Chris Allen of Lithia Springs; sister, Vernell M. Thornhill of Ocala, FL; five grandchildren, Christopher Michael Allen and his wife, Sasha, Shelisa Christina Allen, Charles Vedenby Clopton, III, Matthew Lloyd Clopton, and Justin Cornell Clopton; nieces and nephews, Marc Thornhill, Kenneth Thornhill, Tracey Thornhill-Parker, Allison Thornhill; great-nieces and great-nephews, Khari Thornhill, Khalila Thornhill, Tarik Thornhill, and Terrence Thornhill. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Pastor Sharon Green of New Beginnings Baptist Church of East Atlanta officiating.
