Julius E. "Jay" Cornett

Mr. Julius E. “Jay” Cornett, age 69, of Villa Rica passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Redmond Hospital in Rome. He was born May 15, 1941 in Atlanta, the son of the late Mr. Cary Cornett and the late Mrs. Agnes Neese Cornett. He worked at Sears in sales for many years. Mr. Cornett was a member of New Georgia Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary E. Harrell Cornett of Villa Rica; daughters and son-in-law, Traci and Harry Montague of Dallas, Jennifer Cornett of Villa Rica; sisters, Barbara Beacham of McDonough, Shirley Long of Estoria; four grandchildren, Samantha Montague, Kyliegh Montague, Abby Cornett, and Harrison Montague. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, April 25, 2011 at 1:30 PM at New Georgia Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Burdette officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica Saturday, April 23, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to Harry M. Montague for benefits of Harrison’s Heroes in memory of J. Cornett at any Regions Bank Location.
