Mamma June—June Daniell Albertson—a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, faithful member of her church community, and exceptionally talented artist, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1933, June embodied love, creativity, and quiet grace throughout her long and inspiring life. To all who knew her, she was affectionately known as Mamma June, a name that captured her nurturing heart and the warmth she extended to everyone around her.
June shared 74 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, William F. "Bill" Albertson, Sr., who preceded her in death on December 18, 2025. Together, they built a life rooted in faith and family on Dog River. A dedicated homemaker and lifelong creative soul, June was a gifted potter, painter, and master of intricate etched eggs—delicate, one-of-a-kind works of art that showcased her extraordinary talent and attention to detail. Her pieces reflected her artistic vision and brought joy and wonder to family, friends, and admirers alike. Whether shaping clay on the wheel, brushing vibrant scenes on canvas, or carefully etching fragile eggshells into treasured heirlooms, June's artistry was a profound expression of her gentle spirit and love for beauty. She was a longtime, faithful member of Ephesus Baptist Church, where she worshipped alongside Bill and contributed to the fellowship that sustained their family. Her kindness, resilience, and unwavering devotion touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
June is survived by her three sons: William and Rebecca Albertson of Winston, GA; Brian and Wanda Albertson of Hickory Level, GA; and Jeffrey and Jennifer Albertson of Santa Rosa Beach, FL. Her greatest pride and joy came from her grandchildren—Sally, Jennifer, Jason, Daniell, Randell, Emily, Jeffrey, June, Faith, and Kasey—and her ten great-grandchildren, who filled her heart with happiness and inspiration. She is also survived by her sister, Wanda Moore. In addition to her husband Bill, she was predeceased by her parents, Hubert and Mozelle Daniell; her brother, Douglas Daniell.
The family will receive friends at Ephesus Baptist Church on Friday, March 13, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, with the funeral service at 12:00 PM, officiated by Dr. Billy Godwin. Interment will follow in the Ephesus Baptist Church cemetery, with the following grandsons and great-grandsons serving as pallbearers, Daniell, Randell, Jason, Trenton, Tex, Trey, Jeffrey, Kasey.
