Mr. Kaileb Chance Ellison, age 18 of Douglasville, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019. He was born March 13, 2000, the son of Mr. Roddrecus Latrez Ellison and Mrs. Stacey Elizabeth Hurley. He was a 2018 graduate of Lithia Springs High School. He loved to play basketball and was a phenomenal basketball player. Chance had aspirations to play professional basketball. His Cousins were his best friends. Chance loved all his family very much and told them very often how much he loved them. He was very caring, loyal to everyone, funny, free spirited, and very spiritual with a strong faith. He loved all types of music. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Douglasville. He is preceded in death by his great grandparents; Ennis and Katherine Dickinson and William Thomas Layton, Jr.He is survived by his mother and step-father, Stacey and Clea Hurley of Douglasville, father and step-mother, Roddrecus and Leslie Ellison of Powder Springs; brothers, Will Porter (his very best friend) of Douglasville, Kaiden Ellison of Powder Springs, and Chayton Hurley of Douglasville; sisters, Kaitlyn Ellison of Powder Springs, and Chiaya Hurley of Douglasville; grandparents, Debbie and Steve Layton of Lithia Springs, Jim and Pat Carden of Bremen, Betty Lay of Villa Rica, Otha Ellison of Douglasville, June E. and Sharon Bigby of Powder Springs, Brenda and Cecil Hurley of Lithia Springs, Deborah and Roy Armentrout of Douglasville; great grandmother, Sarah Layton of Lithia Springs; aunts and uncles, Jamie and Charles Barrett, Cassie Kubicek, Kelly and Dustin Green, Valdez and Yvette Ellison, Natasha Ellison, and Felicia and Tyrone Martin; his beloved dog, Shylo; numerous cousins and extended family members also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglasville on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 1:00 PM from The First Baptist Church of Douglasville with Pastor Phillip Morris officiating. He will lie in state at the church from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens.Messages of condolences may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
