Katherine Johnson

Mrs. Katherine Emily Harris Johnson, age 97, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, September 19, 2011 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica. She was born April 23, 1914 in Warwick, Rhode Island the daughter of the late Mr. Gilbert Harris and the late Mrs. Ellen Sophia Eastlake Harris. She retired from the Marathon, Florida Chamber of Commerce where she worked as a secretary. She was a member of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Johnson in 1962; her sister, Ellen Chatel in 1997. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne Johnson and his wife, Bonnie Howell of Fernandina, FL and Karl and Cathy Johnson of Gloucester, VA; 7 grandchildren, April Craft, Kristen Johnson, Kelli Hailey, Lynn Jones, Jason Genther, Donald Johnson, Ashley Furr; 15 great-grandchildren.
