A Douglas County resident for 50 years, Katherine “Loretta” Reece passed away on November 16, 2023. Loretta was born on August 8, 1936 in Atlanta, Georgia She was dearly loved and will be missed terribly. Loretta died at The Harbor at Douglasville surrounded by her children, David and Cyndi Burnett, Johnny and Tammy Allen, Barry and DeAnna Reece, and her sister, Mary McPherson. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. S. Reece in 2003. Loretta was the Assistant Manager in the cafeteria at L. W. Burnett Elementary School and then retired from Bill’s Flea Market in Lithia Springs. Her friends loved her wild and generous spirit and enjoyed her homemade cakes and fudge. She loved spoiling her grandchildren, Kim, Katy, Steven, and Brittany, and she doted on the great grands, Sam, James, Maxwell, Finlee, Saylor, Liam, and Knox. Loretta loved being on the water - boating and fishing at the lake, sunning at the beach, especially with her kids and grandchildren. Family trips to casinos were a favorite. The Atlanta Braves have lost a big fan with the passing of Loretta.
