Kathleen Whitaker

Mrs. Kathleen Mauldin Whitaker, age 82, of Lithia Springs, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016. She was born March 10, 1934 in Dallas, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Oscar Lee Mauldin and the late Mrs. Mary Rebecca Hix Mauldin. Mrs. Whitaker enjoyed flowers, gardening, fishing and taking care of her family, especially cooking for them. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy Ann Gantt; brother, Ralph Mauldin; sisters, Corene Wright, Barbara Garrett, and Hilda Leonard. She is survived by her husband, Jack Benson Whitaker of Lithia Springs; sons and daughters-in-law, Jack J. and Connie Whitaker of Newnan, Tim and Catherine Whitaker of Woodstock; son-in-law, Samuel Stevenson of Villa Rica; brother, Fred Mauldin of Bremen; five grandchildren, Greg, Dusty, Zack, Taylor and Michael; four great-grandchildren, Meagan, Marlee, Jared, and Josh; special caregiver and niece, Penny Hopkins; Several other nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville , Friday, November 18, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery.
