Mrs. Kathryn Mayfield Gentry, age 77, of Carrollton, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018. She was born July 31, 1940 in Villa Rica, GA the daughter of the late Mr. Ed Smith Mayfield and the late Mrs. Martha Frances Kittle Mayfield. Mrs. Gentry worked at Arrow Shirt Company for many years in Bremen. She later worked as a CNA for many years in Carroll County, taking care of many people in the Home Healthcare Industry. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandma, “Ma”, and great grandma. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Merlin Gentry; son, Johnathan Brian Vanlandingham; siblings, Leonard Mayfield, Carl Mayfield, Vera Mayfield Fair, Essie Mayfield Renoylds, Frank Mayfield, Herman Ed Mayfield, Stella Sarah Mayfield White, Daniel Brand (Junior), Bob Mayfield, and Alice May Mayfield. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Elizabeth “Jane” Vanlandingham of Carrollton, Patricia Gentry Moore of Villa Rica, Angela “Angie” Marie Worthy and John Worthy of Austell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Envard and Nancy Mayfield of Buchanan, William and Dale Mayfield of Villa Rica; six grandchildren, Brandon and Becky Moore of Buchanan, Katie and Michael Worthy of Austell, Kevin and Ashley Carroll of Carrollton, and Tony and Jessica Carroll of Franklin; five great grandchildren, Destiny and Hunter Carroll of Carrollton, Mason Moore of Buchanan, Jaxon and Laina Carroll of Franklin; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Davis and Rev. Neal Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Powell Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
