Kay Cashin

Anita Kay Cashin, 72, of Villa Rica, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 18, 2026. She was born on July 30, 1954, the daughter of the late Albert Brandies Cashin and the late Jewell Griffies Cashin.

Kay lived a life marked by devotion, compassion, and care for others. She earned her nursing degree from West Georgia College and went on to serve as a Registered Nurse for forty-three years. Over the course of her long and meaningful career, she worked in the Emergency Room Department, ICU, Sub-Acute Rehab, Inner Harbor at Anneewakee, and Home Health, bringing skill and dedication to each area of service. Nursing was not simply her profession, but a calling that reflected the generous spirit.

Kay devoted her life both to nursing and to her mother, Jewell, demonstrating a deep sense of responsibility and love in all she did. She also cherished the moments that brought her family together, especially family reunions and vacations to Marco Island, Florida.

Outside of her work, Kay found happiness in simple and creative pleasures. She enjoyed playing the keyboard, painting, and birdwatching.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Chris Robinson.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Robin and Jane Cashin of Villa Rica; nieces, Krista Simpson (Joseph), Jodi McCarley; great-niece, Dani Huff (Tanner), Alle Shadix, Sophie Robinson, Abbi McCarley, KatieBeth Barnwell (Brett), Bella Robinson; great-nephew, Carsyn Simpson and Cameron Simpson.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel with funeral services conducted at 1:00 PM with Pastor Justin Rich officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Flowers are accepted, however; contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association and First Baptist Church of Temple.

Kay Cashin will be remembered for her caring heart, and the love she gave to her family. Her life was one of purpose, kindness, and quiet strength, and her memory will be treasured by those who knew her.
