Keith Edwards

Aug 16, 1944 — Oct 6, 2026

Keith Edwards, age 82, of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born August 16, 1944, Keith was the son of the late Blanche Reardon. He spent much of his childhood in Forest Hills, Queens, New York, and also lived in Malverne, New York, and Maine during his younger years. Keith proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1965. His military service took him from training in San Antonio, Texas, and Biloxi, Mississippi, to assignments overseas in Germany and Turkey and eventually to Panama City, Florida. Following his military service, Keith continued his education at Florida State University. Keith was an entrepreneur and businessman throughout much of his life. His career took him into international lumber sales, manufacturing, heavy equipment, and ultimately Edwards Equipment. He possessed an independent spirit, a sharp business mind, and an unmistakable determination that remained with him throughout his life. Keith was also a true world traveler. He visited countries across the globe and developed friendships and relationships that crossed borders, languages, and cultures. Costa Rica held a particularly special place in his heart, and over the years the people he loved there became much more than friends - they became family. Among those special relationships was Beatriz Banuls of, whom Keith lovingly considered his Spanish daughter. Beatriz first became part of Keith's life as a foreign exchange student, and what began as a temporary stay grew into a lifelong bond. Keith became like a second father to her, and their relationship remained an important part of his life through the years. Above all, Keith valued the people who became part of his life. His family extended far beyond geography or traditional definitions. Whether connected to him by blood, marriage, friendship, or simply the bonds formed over a lifetime, those he loved knew that Keith had his own unforgettable way of showing how much they meant to him.

Keith is survived by his daughter, Dana Conrath; Beatriz Banuls, whom Keith lovingly considered his Spanish daughter; Jennifer Seaward, who held a special place in Keith's life and was loved by him as a daughter; and Courtney Turner, whom Keith loved and regarded as a son. He is also survived by his stepson, Coleman Dagley, and Coleman's wife, Ashley Dagley; grandchildren Blakely Dagley and Maddox Dagley; his sister, Annie Reardon; niece Caitlin Rival and her children, Avery and Tegan; nephews Sean Williams and Nick Williams; along with additional grandchildren, extended family members, and many dear friends in the United States and abroad.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Blanche Reardon, and his brother, Sean Reardon.

Keith lived a life that was anything but ordinary. He traveled the world, built businesses, took chances, formed lifelong friendships, loved his family, and accumulated a lifetime of stories along the way. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories, lessons, stories, and relationships he leaves behind will continue through everyone whose life he touched.
