Laikyn Skye Stephens

Laikyn Skye Stephens, age 13, of Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2026, in Alabama.

Laikyn was a beautiful, joyful, and loving soul who had a way of making everyone around her feel special and loved. She loved people deeply and always wanted to be surrounded by her family and countless friends. She was everyone’s biggest cheerleader, always celebrating others, encouraging those who needed her, and reminding the people in her life just how much they meant to her.

Laikyn loved riding trails with her family, horses, cheering, music, singing, and dancing. She loved the color blue—especially sky blue—and butterflies. She adored makeup, nails, eyelashes, fashion, and everything that came with being a true girly girl, but she was just as happy covered in mud after a day on the trails.

She loved Outer Banks, food of all kinds, and never hesitated to try something new. For many years, Laikyn dreamed of becoming a cowgirl. More recently, she dreamed of attending cosmetology school and one day opening a salon of her own.

Laikyn loved school and attended Bay Springs, where ELA was especially close to her heart. She treasured the relationships she had with her teachers and friends. She was a good student and a humble young woman who rarely celebrated herself but was always proud of everyone around her. She was especially proud of her siblings and loved cheering them on in everything they did. Above all, Laikyn loved God.

She had a compassionate heart and a gift for knowing when someone needed encouragement. She was there for her friends when they were hurting or walking through difficult times, making them feel heard, valued, and loved. After her passing, countless friends shared stories of the ways Laikyn had been there for them—stories that reminded her family just how many lives her young life had touched.

Those who knew Laikyn will never forget her personality, her laughter, her silliness, or the things she was always saying: 

“I look like a chud.”

“Soooo… what are we doing, guys?”

And, almost every day after school:

“Soooo… are we getting food?”

Those words will forever bring smiles to the people who loved her. Her laughter, her beautiful spirit, her big heart, and the joy she brought everywhere she went will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Laikyn’s family finds comfort in knowing that the God she loved is holding her now. She was a light in this world, and although her time here on earth was far too short, the light she shared will continue to shine through every person whose life she touched.
