Larry Bishop

Mr. Larry Albertus Bishop, age 80, of Villa Rica, passed away, Wednesday, March 20, 2019. He was born November 5, 1938 in Paulding County, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Otis Albertus Bishop and the late Mrs. Gladys Canup Bishop. Mr. Bishop graduated from Villa Rica High School in 1958. Mr. Bishop started work in the drywall business in 1958 with Bishop Drywall and started his own company, L & A Drywall in 1980. He later began working as a stocker for Ingles, working his way up to Manager. Mr. Bishop served as officer of the Church for over 50 years, he also played and coached softball for well over 50 years. He was an avid fisherman, Villa Rica High School fan and Georgia Tech fan. He was very passionate about his family and loved their trips to the mountains and beach. Mr. Bishop was a longtime member of Cross Plains Christian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Frances Marcelle Williams Bishop; brothers, Charles Bishop, Monroe Bishop, and Randy Bishop.He is survived by his second wife, Mable Bishop of Bethlehem; sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Dianne Bishop of Carrollton, Phil and Jamie Bishop of Douglasville; sister, Betty Goff of Jackson; four grandchildren, Tammy and Brian McCort of Bowdon, Candi and Ross Trollinger of Carrollton, Jessica and Sam Geldmaker of Norfolk, VA, Trayton Bishop of Douglasville; three great grandchildren, Kayla and Chase Foster of Lawrenceville, Ashlin Bivins of Bowdon, Kannon Bivins of Carrollton ; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Minister Billy Kaylor and Minister Joel Eynon officiating.
