Larry Joseph Sailers, Sr.

Larry Joseph Sailers, Sr., age 83 of Villa Rica, Ga, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024. He was born on November 23, 1940, in Austell, Ga, the son of the late Ellis Sailers and the late Mildred Sailers.

To those who knew Larry knew him as a kind soul. His laugh was contagious; his smile was warm and bright. The stories he would tell about his childhood and travels would draw you in. Larry was not only a devoted husband and father; he was also the rock to our family. Larry retired as a CDL truck driver in 2001. He enjoyed many hobbies, including cars, golfing, fishing, collecting coins and making his Florida trips. He will be truly missed.

He is survived by his wife Jean Owen Sailers; daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Jimmy Perry of Spring Hill, Florida; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Sailers, Jr. and his wife Angela of Dallas, Georgia, Joe and Mari Sailers of Dallas, Georgia, Jeff and Katrina Sailers of Centennial, Colorado, and Michael and Cassandra Sailers of Dallas, Georgia; twenty-one grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at Jones-Wynn Villa Rica Chapel at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Interment will follow at Melrose Hills Memorial Park.
