Mr. Lee Roy Hembree, age 82 of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at his residence. He was born May 29, 1927 in Douglas County, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. John Washington Hembree and the late Mrs. Alma Kimball Hembree. Mr. Hembree worked for the Douglas County Road Department for 47 years. He enjoyed fishing and loved to garden. Mr. Hembree was a generous man, a servant to everyone and adored his grandchildren. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Douglasville, Georgia. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hembree was preceded in death by his brothers, Herman Hembree and Fred Hembree; and sisters, Lois Johnson, Mozelle Price, Gladys Pate and Ruth Morris. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Louise Evans Hembree of Villa Rica; his daughter, Lisa Hembree of Villa Rica; his son, Benjamin Cohran of Villa Rica; his sisters, Wilma Strickland of Winston and Earlene Bennett of Douglasville; grandchildren, Jack Trotter and Ruby Hembree Court of Villa Rica; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rebecca and Watson Cohran of Douglasville, Marion and Carolyn Evans of Douglasville, Brenda and Pete Ward of Winston, Vernell and Dave Pliske of Winston, David Evans of Carrollton, Monta Raye Hembree of Winston, Sarah Cantrell of Douglasville and John H. Morris of Douglasville; and many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 2:00PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Pastor James Green officiating. Private family graveside service will follow. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Friday, October 30, 2009 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM.
