Leslie Anne (Carmichael) Keys, age 73, passed away on July 24, 2026. She was born August 3, 1952 in Lexington, Kentucky, to the late Mr. John Carmichael and the late Mrs. Oma Jean (Rogers) Carmichael.

Those who had the privilege to know Leslie remember her as a force of positivity, warmth, and genuine kindness. She lived her life with remarkable enthusiasm—her laughter hearty and resonant, her presence always brightening the rooms she entered.

Leslie’s career as a Legal Assistant reflected her keen intellect and her deep sense of justice. Never one to shy away from hard work, Leslie brought the same energy and spirit to her professional life as she did to her personal passions.

Music and movement were at the heart of Leslie’s joys. A born performer, she loved to sing and dance, often showcasing her magnetic personality. Leslie never met a stranger; she had an extraordinary talent for connecting with people from all walks of life, able to spark conversation with anyone, anytime. Her compassionate heart was matched only by her vibrant spirit—she was always ready to help those in need, and did so selflessly and sincerely.

Among all her achievements and experiences, Leslie’s proudest accomplishment was her family. To Leslie, family was both anchor and inspiration—the deepest joy and purpose of her life.

In addition to her parents, Leslie is preceded in death by her brother, Sean Carmichael.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Kollmer) Huggler, with whom she shared a treasured reunion in adulthood. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Guia Peel, as well as her sister-in-law, Wally (Woody) Carmichael, and several nieces, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

In accordance with her wishes, Leslie was cremated. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date with details to follow.
