Lester A Thomas

Mr. Lester Augustus Thomas, age 65, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He was born Aguust 29, 1944 in Dublin, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Oder Thomas, Jr. and the late Mrs. Blanche Dominey Thomas. He married Anne White on July 24, 1971 in Dublin, Georgia. He was of the Baptist Faith and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked as a diesel mechanic for over 30 years. He was a Mason and a member of the AMVETS. Mr. Thomas was a devoted family man and loved life and spending time with his family. He was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mrs. Anne White Thomas of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Scott Bourne of Woodstock; son, Duane Thomas of Smyrna; sister and brother-in-law, Lokella and Jim Schell of Dublin; brothers and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Patsy Thomas of Milledgeville and Benny and Sue Thomas of Dudley; 2 grandsons, Thomas and Andrew; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Boone officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Friday, July 16, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
