Lester Thomas Grant

Mr. Lester Thomas Grant, age 61, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, September 24, 2010 at Emory University Hospital. He was born December 5, 1948 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Cheslie Grant and the late Mrs. Annie Laura Clayton Grant. He married Claudia Jorman on June 6, 1970 in Austell, Georgia. He retired from the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam War. He worked as a construction contractor. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed attending his grandson’s baseball games. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Grant and father-in-law, Omar Lee Jorman. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mrs. Claudia Jorman Grant of Douglasville; daughters, Kim Grant and Stacy Grant both of Douglasville; sons and daughter-in-law, Jacob Grant of Atlanta and Matt and Kelly Grant of Douglasville; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean West of Douglasville, Bobbie and Ronnie Henson of Morrow, Peggy and Leslie Pope of Douglasville and Judy and Terry Hope of Alabama; his mother-in-law, Martha Jorman of Douglasville; grandchildren, Haley, Payton, and Presley; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 2:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Grady Morris and Mr. Robert Shirley officiating. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs with military honors provided by the Georgia Army Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Koch, Ricky Koch, Keith Bush, Josh Bush, Clete Holmes and Chris Grimaldi. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
