Mr. Lewis Frank Lee, Sr., age 90, of Douglasville, Georgia went to be with the Lord Thursday, December 27, 2012 following an extended illness. He was born on March 29, 1922 in Franklin, Georgia the son of the late Cary Britt Lee and the late Mary Elizabeth Lee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Bell Lee; five sisters, Corine, Ruth, Sarah, Inez, Helen; and second wife, Christine Rainey Lee. He is survived by his wife, Fran Owens-Lee of Douglasville; sons, Lewis Frank Lee, Jr., and Cary Britt Lee; four grandchildren, April Davenport, Brittany Lee, Tara Hill, Garrett Lee; two great-grandchildren, Madelyn Lee and Austin Davenport; stepsons, Tim Cochran, Wayne Cochran, Larry Cochran and Mark Cochran numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Lee was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Douglasville where he was a member of the Keenager club and Sonrisers Sunday School Class. He retired from Ford Motor Company in Quality Control following 33 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman First Class during World War II. He was a member of the Bremen Masonic Lodge #456 F&AM and received the honor of his 50-year pin. Mr. Lee was an avid gardener sharing his produce with family, friends and neighbors. He once produced a cabbage weighing 151/4 lbs taking first prize for largest grown at that time. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Saturday, December 29, 2012 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Rev. Bill Shipp officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Carrollton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Lee may be made to the Share House, PO Box 723, Douglasville, Georgia 30133.
