Lila Henley

Dr. Lila Jo Selman Henley, age 76, of Douglasville, passed away, Tuesday, May 15, 2012. She was born February 9, 1936 in Winter Haren, FL the daughter of the late Mr. Harold James Selman, Sr. and the late Mrs. Hazel Louise Collier Selman. She worked for Atlanta Public School Systems for 30 years. Mrs. Henley dedicated her life to helping children and was an avid traveler. She attended New Life Baptist Church in Dallas. She is survived by her husband, James Wilson Henley, Jr. of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Rodney Hardin of Douglasville; brother and sister-in-law, Harold James and Susie Selman of Gainesville; three grandchildren, Brady, Allie, and Averie. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends from Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Friday, May 18, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Dr. Billy Godwin and Rev. Vermon Palmer officiating.
