Lila Irene Jones

Mrs. Lila Irene Henry Jones, 87, of Hillcrest Drive, Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, April 27, 2006 at the Douglasville Nursing and Rehab Center in Douglasville, Georgia. She was born November 4, 1918, in Douglas County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Mr. John Henry and the late Mrs. Martha Jennings Henry. Mrs. Jones was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Fairplay. She was a LPN with Villa Rica Hospital and later commenced work with the opening of the Douglas County Hospital and retired from Wellstar Douglas Hospital. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Jones; her children, Reba Meek, Debra Cook, Alfred Jones and Montene Jones; her brothers, Willie Henry, Calvin Henry and Jim Henry; her sisters, Myra Ranger, Edna Strickland and Annie Lee Henry. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Hubert and Mary Jo Jones of Douglasville; her daughter and son-in-law, Geneva and Greg Gibson of Douglasville;9 grandchildren, Ricky and Linda Jones of Douglasville, Pam and Todd Chisolm of Douglasville, Aaron Jones of Douglaville, Kim and Carl Pinkert of Rochester, New York, Tim Meek of Douglasville, Karen and Lee Vandiver of Covington, Traci and Doug Banks of Douglasville, Rebecca and Michael Randall of Douglasville and Greg Gibson, Jr. of Douglasville; 10 great-grandchildren, Ricky Jones, Jr. of Douglasville, Breanna Chisolm of Douglasville, Noah Chisolm of Douglasville; Candice Meek of Anniston, Alabama, Valarie Meek of Anniston, Alabama, Katie Claire of Rochester, New York, Grant Pinkert of Rochester, New York, Timmy Land, Jr. of Douglasville, Anslee and Bailee Banks of Douglasville; 2 great-great grandchildren, Benton Fitzner of Anniston, Alabama and Maddie Fitzner of Anniston, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Rev. Tomm Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Paulding County, Georgia. The family will be receiving friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Friday, April 28, 2006 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Saturday, April 29, 2006 from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour.
